Life can have some of the cutest moments that you just have to pause what you are doing and savor them.
Last night Zach couldn’t fall asleep due to anxiety about school. I tried to help him relax, and gave him tips from what I did when I had those feelings at school (rub his back, imagery, etc…), but it seemed like nothing would work for him.
He eventually got up out of bed to try laying down somewhere else, to see if it would help. Still he had no luck in falling asleep.
Then he tried to rest on the couch, and our big wonderful loving orange kitty cat Ulysses jumped up on him to attempt to snuggle. Ulysses is so cute when he sleeps. He always looks like he is smiling.

A few minutes later Zach comes back to the bedroom cradling Ulysses in his arms, and then gently sets him down on his side of the bed. He lies down, and snuggles with Ulysses.
Now usually Zach doesn’t like our kitty lying on the bed with us, since Ulysses snores and kicks and such.
So I ask him “Why did you bring Ulysses in here with you?”
And he said “He jumped up to snuggle with me, and it helped me to calm down as I was petting him. I started to fall asleep, so I wanted to bring him back to bed with me”
I heard the soft purrs of Ulysses, as my hubby finally was able to relax and enter dreamland.

It was such a cute and tender moment, and just makes my love for animals grow even more. I know that there are studies and such that say that living with an animal is hazardous to your health (because of their litter boxes, dander, claws, etc…)
But in reality, they are actually so good for you. They help to reduce stress, help to teach compassion, and apparently help you to sleep as well :) Oh, and are also very entertaining!

When I was ill from food poisoning the other day, Ulysses was right there by my side. Such a sweetie :)

Well, I am off to snuggle with my little ball of fur, and then a trip to the library! Have a great rest of the week everyone! and don’t forget to hug your furry ones :)
